Teen Wolf

Teen Wolf is a T.V show that portrays Scott McCall becoming a werewolf and how he acclimates to the change. Throughout the seasons the plot focuses on Scott and his friends but also delves into the lives of other werewolves, such as Isaac Lahey. The first time we see Isaac, he and his father have a fight and he begins abusing him. However, only a couple of hours later, Isaac finds his father dead, and now he has to pick up the pieces of what his father inflicted, both mentally and physically.
In this scene, we see Isaac Lahey wake up from a nightmare that included his father abusing him both physically and emotionally. Earlier in the show, Isaac’s character is introduced to us by depicting his father throwing a china plate at his son. The side effects of PTSD which may be within Isaac, are stated by PTSDUK, saying “PTSD symptoms displayed by abused children and young people include poor behavior at school, depression and anxiety, aggression, risk-taking, and emotional numbness, and a range of physical issues including poor sleep and headaches” (PTSD). Now, in this scene, Lahey’s late father’s abuse has impacted him quite a bit. The PTSD that Isaac develops is clearly shown, through the fact that he is still scared of his father and his words even after his passing. After shouting abuse at his son, Mr. Lahey decides to go a step further and have his son lock himself in a freezer. Even though this part is not shown in the clip, the audience later learns that Isaac was locked in his freezer for at least half of his life. We see the toll it takes on Isaac through his PTSD-induced nightmares as well as the way Isaac is still frightened of him when he knows that Mr. Lahey cannot hurt him anymore. Even in a later episode, we see Isaac having a panic attack when he was locked in a closet due to his claustrophobia his father gave him. Even when his father is gone, Isaac can still feel the effects of his bad parenting and abuse.
